Lyle & Scott Ladies clothing collection

2023 sees the release of the first ever Lyle & Scott golf specific ladies clothing capsule. A slightly different take on ladies golf attire and one we believe focuses on the younger female golfing generation.  

We sat down for a little Q&A with the good people at Lyle & Scott to find out more about the collection and the influence behind it.

 Where do Lyle & Scott see themselves in the ladies game and what are the plans for future development in women’s golf fashion.

Lyle & Scott believe that women’s sport is moving in the right direction and in the last three years they’ve been heavily involved in women’s football. They sponsor Lewes Football Club who are a professional team that play in the women’s championship. It allows the brand to go back into producing a women’s fashion range and now a golf apparel collection. The future for women’s golf is stronger, Lyle see the comparisons on where women’s football was seven years ago. There are so many women and girls playing golf now and this can only be a good thing for the game. 

Golf can be seen as a sport but it’s also a great lifestyle choice and our range bridges that together. That is the most important thing when we create a golf collection, we want it to be unlike most of the golfing brands out there.

The inspiration for the collection came from the fishing villages that bridge land and sea, they provide a life of stark contrast. Simple in nature, yet demanding of endurance, patience and skill. Lyle’s women’s collection takes inspiration from those requirements, so similar to those of golf. It provides a unique balance of statements and timelessness that you can see in the pieces of the collection.

What inspired the names of the garments.

The names of all the garments in the collection come from all the female L&S employees who worked on this beautifully crafted range.

The collection features modern silhouettes from playsuits to dresses. It also includes staple pieces such as ladies crewneck sweatshirts and a ladies specific version of the famous Lyle & Scott polo shirt. All tied in together the collection makes a great capsule for the modern female golfer.
